the guy
Located in Columbus, Ohio, I'm just a guy that loves music, and loves to share his love for it with others. Currently enrolled at the Ohio State University, 4th year Japanese major. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but I have a love for language, just like I have a love for music. Been playing guitar for about 10 years... picked it up after my grandfather died. He had a very old acoustic gibson that became ours after he died, and so I began to play around with it and thought that it sure would be great to learn. I suppose him dying led it's way to me playing guitar, which is pretty strange... I really miss him and wish he was still alive. Eventually, when my interest in guitar grew even more, my dad got me a Fender strat for Christmas one year. If it wasn't for that guitar (and amp), and then later my electric/acoustic Celebrity Ovation he bought me, I wouldn't have been in a band in high school, and wouldn't have really gotten very far with the semi-shoddy acoustic I had in the beginning. My dad rules, along with the guitars he bought me, Kurzweil SP88 stage piano, and other misc. equipment, he has totally been a huge supporter. I took lessons for a few months, but I never practiced, cause I was always doing my own thing. I really should have practiced and learned my guitar theory better, but... you now how it goes. I just wanted to play stuff. So I learned on my own along with the help of a good friend of mine, Aaron. Check out his band, The Mercy Kiss. I recently came back from a year of study in Japan, and have been writing all kinds of new material that I think has taken my song writing for a new step in the right direction.
